8 random happy thoughts

1. Gotta love the weather today. The sun is shining the grass is green and I have a huge smile on my face. It inspired me to write another song. I'm trying to write something along the lines of what it's like when Adam's gone...but in a positive light. I'm really excited about it.

2. So...more good news! Adam comes home tomorrow!!! I really don't know how I live without him. He's the best husband, father, cook, maid, army guy, home repair guy, car fix it guy...well, you get the idea. He's my perfect match in every way. No wonder I feel so lost without him here.
3. I finally set up an appt with the OB/GYN to check out my hormonal health. When my best friends tell me that maybe it might not be a bad idea to look into drugs, I figure that's their nice way of saying I need to get help. I love you guys. Thanks for the push. :)

4. Crystal, Sara N. has something to confess. I so want to tell you right here, right now, but I promised I'd let her break the news to you. hehe. It makes me happy.

5. I may just sign up to teach Kick (the kick boxing class at the gym). There's a training in April and I'm all over it.

6. I finally finished The Historian, the book that's been plaguing me for the past few weeks. 900 pages of following the historical path of the great and terrible Vlad Drakula to have a rather lame ending. But it is done...and now I can move on to bigger and better things. Dracula, you can suck it!

7. I got my new Dryer today!!! The Whirlpool Duet Dryer to finally match my duet washer that has been running solo for the past 6 months. According to my electrician, my old dryer had to go or I'd burn the house down. "What? It's not ok to flip the circuit breaker every time my dryer shorts out?" Now it only takes 35 mins to dry my clothes! I'm in laundry heaven!
8. We're going to the Great Wolf Lodge next weekend to get away from it all. I so cannot wait.

So, you had a bad day...

You know the song, right? Yep...bad day. For those of you who saw me at church, I'm sorry. I'm usually not one to break down in public. Yes...complete breakdown in the foyer at church, tears streaming. You wanna know how it came to that? Sure you do. Simple equation.

my 11:30 bedtime +
Grumpy 2:45-4:30am Grant +
5am nightmare +
6:30 wake up call +
8am "NO BATH" Grant (imagine the dog that doesn't want to get in the tub) +
10am Grumpy just waking up Nona (this is a scary thing) +
11:30 still Grumpy waking up Nona, yet somehow bathed and dressed +
quick breakfast/lunch +
12:45 choir practice (imagine Grant and Bryson running all over the chapel, podium, organ, oh wait...the chapel doors are open? let's book it. Here's me..."Ok, tenors sing." hurry, run after Grant. Hurry back. winded, "ok..sounded great. Now, basses go over the same part." where did he go???? GRANT!!!!) You get the idea. Thank you Bishop! and all the others who eventually came to my rescue. +
1:30pm Sacrament Meeting begins +
1:40pm Grant can't stay still, screams so much I have to take him out +
1:45pm somehow make it through the Sacrament - reward children with the promised gum +
1:50pm Bryson- "what? I don't get the WHOLE pack of gum?!!!" Screaming fit. Take both Grant and Bryson out +
2:05pm Make it back into the chapel...got to hear a little bit of Lee's fabulous talk. Everyone's happy. Grant takes off to the foyer. I give up and follow hoping the other three will sit peacefully on the bench. +
2:10pm Bro Harper pokes his head into the foyer, "Are you ok?" =

I lose it.

So that's how it happened. I guess now that I look back, it seems like that's what happens every Sunday. It just seemed a lot harder today. Thank you to all of you who came to my rescue. Ft Meade ward is the best. I'm usually one to harp on the men for not helping more, but I have to say I had as many offers of help from men as from women today. Thanks gentlemen...not that you read blogs. :)

Adam will be home this week, so hopefully my crazy ways will end. oh...but it's Thursday night not Wednesday like I told everyone today. Darn that extra day.

Oh...and I'm still on for Monday Madness. You know me and my bipolar ways. I'll be totally fine tomorrow. :)

Chicken Salad...Yummy, Yummy

I don't like to cook, but I don't mind chopping. Here is my Chicken salad recipe that I stole from Emily H, who told me she got it from Sarah G. :)

Chicken Salad Recipe

4 chicken Breasts, cooked and finely chopped
1/2 a gala apple, cored and finely chopped
2 tbsp onion, finely chopped
handful of grapes, each cut in half
Mayo (I use Hellman's light or original)
Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all of your chopped ingredients (the Pampered Chef chopper is great for this part), plus grapes. Coat with mayo. I usually use 2 spoonfuls and then add your salt and pepper. Nuts are optional.

Pretty easy and pretty delish!

Monday Madness!

I LOVE Mondays!!! I finally took a picture of all the ladies who came over this Monday. I must say...what a good looking group! Wowee! :) We have so much fun. You would think with all these kids, there would be complete chaos, but it's really not that bad. Yummy food. Today we had muffins, cupcakes, fruit, wraps, sushi, shrimp chips, and chicken salad. Did I forget anything?

Oh...speaking of forgetting things...

These items were left at my house. Please come get them, or I can bring them on Sunday, or come retrieve next Monday. Slavka, your water bottle is here, too.

Yay! Mondays are fun. The more the merrier, so if you're in the neighborhood, drop on by!

Pinewood Derby

Just a quick update. Josh had his first Pinewood Derby last month. Adam was gone, so I ended up borrowing a band saw and making it myself. Josh painted it and put the decals on it. I think it turned out pretty good! It didn't win any of the races, but it was a learning experience. Josh took notes on the cars that did well and now knows what he wants to make for next year. :)

"The Hand"

Sara Newey is awesome. If you didn't have the privilege of knowing her, it's too bad. She super talented musically, and is an amazingly giving, wonderful person, but she's got edge, too. Gotta have edge.

Anyway, my kids love her. It helps that she gives them gum, but they seriously adore her. Leaving the gym today, Grant freaked out because Sara had to ride in her own car to our house instead of our car. He screamed "Newey!! Newey!" all the way home. (We call her sister newey)

Everyday, she goes to pick up one of my other friend's daughters from school. It ends up being about an hour with the driving and the waiting. Sometimes she takes my boys with her, which is great because they love car rides and they usually end up taking a nap, and I get a free hour to do whatever. Well, today, I was just walking Sara and the boys to the door as they headed out to the car to go for their afternoon ride and Little G turns around at the door and gives me "the hand."

"No! No, mommy! No, you come! No come!"

I've been officially replaced... or else he just has a serious crush. :)

Only the BEST show ever!

Ok, I don't watch sitcoms normally, but this one is hilarious. One of HIMYM's finest.
