Twilight the Movie

I'm sure reviews have been posted blogwide, but I thought I'd post my own thoughts on the movie (of course, Crystal's gentle nudging helped, too). :) Slavka, don't read!!!

Ok, so first of all, I wasn't expecting high quality entertainment. After the previews, I knew it was going to be corny. Come on..."How long have you been 17..." And after watching the parody of the preview, I couldn't take much seriously.

So, it was a good thing I went late at night with a bunch of friends on opening night so we could all be silly and laugh together. It was pretty funny. Thanks girls...you're the best!

My review...

The cool:
Loved the supporting actors. Tyler, Eric, Angela, even Jessica were cast pretty dead on. I think I liked Tyler the most. Total teenager.
Jacob and his gang seemed authentic, too which I was worried about.
Charlie, awesome. The awkward Bella and Charlie moments were so real. Loved it!
Victoria is going to be pretty cool and totally gorgeous!
It was pretty dead on with the book. Some liberties were taken, but it helped the movie move smoother and faster.

The weird:
The music. I know Stephenie Meyer LOVED the music, but it was...well, weird.
James. Need I say more?
The Bella and Edward extended gazes.
The end battle with James. dumb
The leaping through the trees. Just stick to the running really fast. We didn't need to see them gazing at each other from the top of 300 ft high tree.
Special effects needed some help. Can we say low budget?
The writing...awful
The directing...even worse
The acting...could've been better with better writing and directing

The Downright weird:
Glitter. Wow! scary...

So, I liked it, I might even see it again...heck, I might even buy it when it comes to DVD, but truth be told, it was not my favorite.

Now it's your turn. If you haven't commented already on the movie (which I'm sure you have) feel free to comment here.

Thanks!

This is why I love you, you can still be rational. :D No fangirl-like squeeing just because it's now a movie.

I'd read lots of bad reviews, but then I'd see someone's blog and they were all over it like it was the greatest thing ever.

I've decided I will see it when my friend buys it on DVD, or the base theater plays it for free. That way I can really laugh!

Of course the glitter was bad! It was bad in the book! Ditto to the longing glances. :D
