BOYS! sigh

So, this is what I've woken up to every morning for the past week. What would you do?

Things that have tried and failed:
Screaming
Spanking
Helping them clean it
Making them do it themselves
Doing nothing

HELP!!!!

I got it to work. I loved the "Yay!" At the end. In a very sympathetic way of coarse. :p

I was able to see the video... WOW. I don't know what to say. I don't even dare laugh because I am afraid of karma =)

So I put Grant in the room for a nap with the mattresses in disarray and where did I find him asleep? Draped over the chair, with his legs over the side. Poor guy! I feel awful. I just don't know what to do.

I know my mom had my brothers on mattresses on the floor with sleeping bags. That's always an option.

Wow, I had no idea boys that little could cause so much chaos! They must be STRONG! The mattresses on the floor with the sleeping bags sounds like a good idea...

or maybe just sleeping bags on the floor?? not much you can do with justa sleeping bags...

The Yay! at the end is killing me. No beds? Yay!

I have no advice. For once this is something my boys haven't thought up.

I'd say make them do it themselves, but if that didn't work, I don't know...

I looked to Chris for this one since he was the oldest ( read 'ringleader') of 4 boys. Apparently his mom did the regular beating thing and the leaving of the beds for them to clean up, whether they did or not he "doesn't remember".

If you still have a baby monitor, maybe use that for a few days and 'catch them in the act?'

That "yay" makes me laugh every time. Unfortunately, the kids think it's funny, too. So, I can see the room getting trashed again. I've held off putting the bedding back on and so far they haven't taken the mattress off yet. We'll see. Adam was quick to get them this morning.

Oh yeah! Adam's home! YAY!!!

Hi Ariella! Well, I must say, your video brought back so many memories. I didn't have this problem with Jonathon or Aaron, but the twins, Adam and Daniel, whew...what worked for me is food. Dirty room, no food. And Ariella, this too shall pass. Before you know it.

SONIA!!! Hey lady! Well, you would know. Hmmm. Food, I will definitely try. Or candy, tis still the season. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I agree- Boys are TROUBLE! I have yet to find a punishment that gives me the results I want. I just pray and try to watch him 24-7. Hoping for a girl on the next one:)

I think the food thing might be good. Maybe no breakfast until it's clean. But I'm a mean mom and I would get out a huge bag of m&m's and eat it in front of them saying they can have some when the room is clean. (give some to the kids that were not involved.... like I said I'm mean)

But I'm with Shel, I'm afraid of Karma with all three boys in one room... this something they haven't thought of yet.

Don't you hate it when they have the nerve to like the consequences? That makes me madder.

What if you praise the ones who don't mess up their beds? Maybe even set up a reward chart and the kids who have neat beds each morning get a sticker, 5 stickers equals some cool treat that everyone likes. I don't know.

Thankfully mine don't do that. I think their ages are too spread out to be able to all cooperate and accomplish a job like that.

Where's your Twilight movie review?! Did you love it? Did you hate it?

Ha ha ha! The "YAH" at the end was the best.

I actually did this too when I was little. My mom got sick of me moving furniture around and made me sleep in a tent.

Best night EVER!

But then she tied all my toys in a garbage bag and threatened me with them. Not so cool.

So in review: make your kids sleep in camping equipment and take away their toys. Parenting in a nutshell.

Who raised such happy kids? I mean, LIKING their punishment? Geez. Maybe if you would make them sadder this wouldn't happen. :) okay, who am I kidding. good luck. mark my words, MY boy will be super sad when I give my punishments by golly. or else! :)
